The Top 30 Franchise Executives report showcases exceptional individual performance in Australia’s franchising industry. It is about individuals making a tangible difference to franchisees. It’s about passion. It’s about leadership. It’s about innovation. 

All eligible nominees for the Top 30 Franchise Executives have been invited to submit an application, which will be reviewed by our panel of judges.

2022 finalists will be announced on the 31 March 2022 at the Melbourne launch party

Judges

This year seven judges drawn from the franchising community undertook the difficult task of whittling down submissions to a final list of just 30 franchise executives; a big thank you to the judges for their time and commitment.

Top 30 Executive submissions were judged across the following categories:

Natalie Brennan

Natalie started her career in franchising at 15, and now over three decades later is general manager of one of Australia most loved and iconic brands, Muffin Break. Along the way she has held senior roles with many multi-unit brands. She is passionate about franchising and paving the way for other women in the sector, but says her most important role is that of mum to twin 10 year old boys.
Matt-Chapman

Matt Chapman

Matt has been with Snap Fitness for seven years working in roles from club manager to area manager and is now the national operations manager. Passionate about all things Snap Fitness he has been nominated for a number of awards, including Club Manager of the Year in the global business, CM of the year in the Australian network, and in 2020 was named Area Manager of the Year.
Bruce McFarlane

Bruce McFarlane

Bruce is CEO of the BlueRock Group, a multi-disciplinary entrepreneurial advisory firm and certified B Corporation. He is also MD of BlueRock Law and leads the firm’s M&A team and Franchising, Retail & Distribution team. Bruce is a keen supporter of the franchise sector and he has been an elected member of the Victorian State Chapter Committee of the Franchise Council of Australia for more than a decade.

Michael Paul

Michael is the founder and former CEO of Pack & Send. He held this position for 28 years up until the acquisition of the business in 2021 by MBE Worldwide. Under his leadership Pack & Send developed into a successful franchise network of 145 service centres throughout Australia, New Zealand and the UK. In 2018 Michael was inducted into the Australian Franchising Hall of Fame.
Tracy-Steinwand

Tracy Steinwand

Tracy is passionate about franchising and how it enables people to grow and succeed. She worked with Subway and led a number of global departments after she led the team that grew the brand to over 1100 restaurants in Australia. She now serves on the global board of directors for another industry leading brand, Poolwerx.
Sarah Stowe

Sarah Stowe

Sarah has headed up the Inside Franchise Business portfolio for nearly 15 years, directing editorial content, interviewing top level executives, industry advisors and franchisees for both the professional executive audience and the franchise buying readership. She launched the Top 30 Franchise Executives report in 2019 as a celebration of the hard work, commitment and passion displayed by the franchisor community.
Steve-Whittard

Steve Whittard

Steve operates seven Mister Minit stores on the Gold Coast and has been a franchisee since 2015. He is the current franchisee of the year for the international network of 300+ shops. Prior to becoming a franchisee, Steve was the company’s franchise manager responsible for the development and support of the franchise system. This followed an extensive record of senior leadership roles in both operations and property.
